“The Path To Cellular Wellness” by Jason Brammer | Painting and Mural Installation

This commissioned, site-specific installation consists of 5 acrylic paintings on canvas with connecting mural work and integrated three-dimensional objects, including tubing and actual parts from laboratory equipment produced by Alere.

Location: Front lobby at Alere in San Diego, CA.

Dates: Completed August 2010. This is a permanent installation.

Details: Jason initially created this as a live painting installation for Alere at the AACC Clinical Lab Expo at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL on July 21 - 23, 2009.  As of August 2010, “The Path To Cellular Wellness” installation is relocated to it’s permanent site inside the San Diego office of Alere. “The Path To Cellular Wellness” installation symbolizes the progression from disease to health and wellness.  On the first canvas, diseased cells are surrounded by stormy waters and a darkened sky, representing a generally unhealthy state.  As the cells move to the right, the waters calm and the sky brightens as the viral cells are detected and "brought into the light".  Organic flowing imagery and floating molecules meander throughout the installation, lending it a sense of movement and continuity.
