Acrylic, plaster, antique hardware, tubing, and hand-cut sign board on canvas, 54” x 18” (canvas size).
Location: Private residence in Chicago, IL.
Jason created this piece in a custom size to perfectly fit a wall at the end of a client’s hallway. This piece opened up the hallway space by giving the illusion that you are peering through a window into another time. The client encouraged Jason’s Art Nouveau influences, so he gave this “machine” an organic curvilinear design that looks as if it was made from wrought iron.
Acrylic, plaster, antique hardware, and tubing on masonite, 54” x 18” (canvas size).
Location: Penthouse residence in Trump Towers, Chicago, IL.
For this commission, we were working with an interior designer. The designer and her client really liked Jason’s imagery of tubes flowing into a field and needed a specific size to fit above a fireplace.
“Gateway To The White City 1893: Part 2”
Acrylic on canvas, 36” x 72”
Location: Private residence in Seattle, WA.
For this piece, the clients loved the imagery from Jason’s “White City” paintings and commissioned one in a specific size for their home.
Untitled, Acrylic on canvas, 24” x 48”
Location: Antique Fan Museum at Fanimation in Zionsville, IN.
This commission was a gift for the CEO and founder of Fanimation, a fan design and manufacturing company. The client specified a size and asked for a particular style of ceiling fan to be incorporated. Jason’s original design integrated the fan as part of a “Casablanca” inspired, Moroccan style scene. As the gift recipient is also an avid collector of antique fans, Jason’s signature “antique” style in sepia tones perfectly complemented the subject.
Examples of Commissioned ARTWORK (Click on the images or titles to see more of each piece):
“My Morning Jacket As The White City”
Concert Poster Design, 18” x 24”
This is an original concert poster design for the band My Morning Jacket. A limited edition of 250 posters were sold at the concert on August 17, 2010 at Charter One Pavilion in Chicago, IL. The poster design was based on Jason’s original painting of the same title, “My Morning Jacket As The White City”.
“My Morning Jacket: Powering The Future”
Concert Poster Design, 24” x 18”
This is an original concert poster design for the band My Morning Jacket. A limited edition of 134 posters were sold at the concert on October 22, 2010 at Terminal 5 in New York City. At this show, they played their whole album "Z", so the concept for the poster is that the band is a mechanical power station that is powering a future city off in the distance and the window to this futuristic city is "Z". The poster design was based on Jason’s original painting of the same title, “My Morning Jacket: Powering The Future”.
Album Cover Artwork, 24” x 24”
This is an original painting Jason created for Chicago recording artist, LoBounce, to use for the album cover of his new 2011 release, “Bouncetown”.
Acrylic, antique hardware, wood, metal, and salvaged leather on canvas, 60” x 48” (canvas size).
Location: Private residence in Chicago, IL.
For this commission, the clients provided a beautiful photograph of their daughter swinging at the beach. Jason painted this by hand from the photo and incorporated a trompe l'oeil window with 3-d elements to create a unique frame around the piece. He made this painting in a custom size to fit a wall in the client’s stairwell, to be viewed from the upper floor landing.
Acrylic, plaster, wood, metal bolts, and salvaged leather on masonite, 40” x 30” (masonite size).
Location: Private residence in Chicago, IL.
Our client commissioned Jason to create this painting as a wedding gift for his fiancée and surprised her with it at their wedding reception.
“My Morning Jacket: Eye To The Infinite”
Concert Poster Design, 24” x 18”
This is an original concert poster design for the band My Morning Jacket. A limited edition of 125 posters were sold at the concert on June 17, 2011 at Auditorium Theatre in Chicago, IL.
The spirals, circles, and eye are meant to tie into My Morning Jacket's new album "Circuital" and the design also pays homage to Louis Sullivan, the architect of the Auditorium Theater. In 1889, Sullivan used the term "organic architecture" and he tried to convey a sense of nature, growth, and life cycles in his designs, which inspired the concept here. The lighted arch mimics the actual arch over the stage in the theatre, lit by the warm glow of incandescent bulbs. The poster design is based on Jason’s original painting of the same title, “My Morning Jacket: Eye To The Infinite”.
“Robert Plant: Recordings From The Pasture”
Concert Poster Design, 20” x 14”
This is an original concert poster design for Robert Plant & The Band Of Joy. A limited edition of 80 posters were printed for the concert on June 13, 2011 at Palace Theatre in Columbus, OH.
With this design, reminiscent of the "Soundscapes" series, Jason wanted to tap into the notion that Robert Plant and his music are connecting to the roots of Americana, exploring this "vintage" American sound. The poster design is based on Jason’s original painting of the same title, “Robert Plant: Recordings From The Pasture”.
“Time Machine LXV” (left) & “Time Machine LXVI” (right)
Mixed Media on Masonite
Location: Private residence in Seattle, WA.
Our clients commissioned these two “Time Machines” to fit a specific wall in the foyer of their luxury apartment building.
CD Cover Artwork
This CD cover design is based on an original painting Jason created for Chicago band, Soft Speaker, for their album “Vortrobos”.
“Time Machine LXXIII (Mapping Consciousness”
Acrylic, Gauche, Antique Hardware, Salvaged Wood, Recycled Leather, Metal, and Twine on Artist Panel, 43.5” x 42.5” (total size).
Location: Private residence in Chicago, IL.
Jason made this piece for clients of ours who are really into sailing. He incorporated actual parts from their old sail boat, including the handles, pulley, and marlin twine, and painted an antique nautical map into the “window” of the painting.
